Come along to Blackburn CLC on Tuesday 15th October 2019 at 6:00pm to find out more about fostering for Alpha Plus in Blackburn. We currently have a huge need to recruit more foster carers across Lancashire and we would like the opportunity to help you find out more by providing you with all the information you might need to decide whether you could be a good foster carer.

On the evening there will be a presentation with general information about fostering; we will talk about the types of fostering, the ages of children who are looking for homes and the behaviours they might present with, why children come in to foster care and how you can make a difference.

This will be followed by an opportunity for you to talk to experienced Alpha Plus foster carers, social workers and support workers to ask the questions most important to you. You will have the opportunity to find out all about the different areas of fostering to ensure you can make an informed decision. This will include; Fostering Siblings, Fostering Teenagers, Parent and Child Fostering, Types of fostering – Short term, long term and respite, Education and support for children, Support for carers including Helping Hands, Training and development and Financial Support for carers.

We have a relationship with Blackburn council to help care for some of their vulnerable children. So we need your help! Lancashire County Council is currently our biggest referring local authority; in 2019 they have referred to Alpha Plus an average of 72 children per month to be cared for within a fostering environment. That is 72 vulnerable children looking for a safe place to live in Lancashire where they can live a normal stable family life. If you have a spare bedroom, you drive or live near great transport links and you have the time and commitment to offer one or more of these children then please come along on Tuesday 15th October at 6:00pm and find out more

There is parking available on site. Light refreshments will be provided.
